Donate to Bissel Gardens
Many of us remember the shape Bissel was in 14 years ago.
People were afraid to venture near the area. And those who did—left bottles and needles.
That’s why we created Bissel Gardens—to restore beauty in the Bronx and bring nature back to our neighborhood so that we could enjoy being outside again, and to manage and preserve it for present and future generations.
And thanks to our generous donors and volunteers, that’s exactly what we are doing.
But, our work must continue, or we run the risk of allowing our beloved Gardens to again fall into a state of disrepair…of becoming a place where people avoid instead of a cherished green sanctuary in the Bronx. And we need your help to keep all of our beautification, maintenance, propagation and education work going.
The cost of everything we do---planting flowers, cultivating gardens, giving away trees and florals for beautification, expanding and maintaining the nursery and Children’s Garden, propagating trees and training youth and volunteers to steward trees, cultivate plants and run the Farmers Market…adds up to more than $125,000 each year, much of which we must raise in private funds.
That’s where our volunteers and generous supporters come in, and why I’m asking you to do something special this year for Bissel Gardens.
